MedwayTri Junior Coach
Having tried and enjoyed many sports as a child, it wasn't until my twenties that, having dabbled with bodybuilding, I found a real love for playing rugby. I then committed to this wonderful sport until my late thirties, playing at the highest level I had achieved, in my final season in 2005. However, my body could no longer meet the demands of 1st XV rugby! Taking part in competitive sport was still important to me and once I discovered Triathlon in 2009, I was hooked, and haven't stopped swimming, cycling and running since.
Representing Great Britain as an Age Grouper (45-49) in Beijing in 2011 is possibly my highlight to date although competing in the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon in 2015 was the most amazing experience and my favourite event so far.
I have a huge passion for the sport that borders on obsession and when the opportunity arose to become involved as a coach, I signed up for and completed my Level 2 Triathlon Coaching award in 2015. Although comfortable with all three disciplines, I particularly have an enthusiasm for coaching swimming to Juniors. Getting one of our youngsters to South East Regional Academy status is one of my goals.
