Welcome to our events section
As well as organising our own programme of events, MedwayTri is keen to establish a strong club presence at multi-sport and single discipline races, from small local events to age-group representation at international level.
Within the events pages you will find listings for many of the triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons taking place in Kent and the surrounding area, as well as the qualifying races across the UK for those athletes targeting a place in the GB age-group squads. Whether you are new to triathlon and multi-sport, or a seasoned veteran, there are races to suit all abilities. There are also a selection of local individual discipline Swim, Bike and Run events to choose from.
Once you have found a race you would like to enter please make sure that you tag the race as joined on the relevant page. This adds you to the list of MedwayTri athletes competing and not only attracts other MedwayTri athletes to join, but prompts our Results Officer to publish your results on the website and our Media Officer to contact the press. To assist our Media Officer, we also ask that you write a race report and upload any photos into our news section.
Another way we encourage MedwayTri representation at events, is to put together relay teams. MedwayTri participate annually in the National Club Relay Championships, taking relay teams catering for all abilities to the event. Look out for communications regarding these team events so that you can declare your interest.
The Mid Kent Tri League is another series of events where MedwayTri athletes can represent their club with pride in the team section. In these five races (Leeds, OLT sprint, Tonbridge Sprint, Sittingbourne Super Sprint and MedwayTri Aquathlon) members can gain points for the club and give us a chance to win top spot amongst the six Kent Tri Clubs competing in this competition.
A comprehensive list of junior events is also detailed within the junior section. Why not become part of our talented and fast-improving team of youngsters, who all hope to excel locally and nationally. The Juniors have the opportunity to register and take part in the South East Junior Race Series, a series of triathlons, duathlons and aquathlons during the triathlon season. Points are allocated dependent on finish and time position in the events by South East registered athletes. In addition, top performing juniors in the South East Race Series (from TS2 upwards) could be selected to represent the South East team competing in the IRC (Inter-regional Championships), putting them in direct competition with the top juniors in the country.
However, as a junior, even if you don't want to compete at this level, there is plenty on offer to enjoy triathlon events for all abilities.
