Whenever MedwayTri has a team competing at an event, we like to appoint a team captain. It’s the team captain’s job to keep all team members informed of team arrangements such as travel and accommodation, event details (including any changes to the original race instructions) and, most importantly, to organise and support the team at the event.
Team captains are usually experienced members of the club, who know the ropes, but additionally can be members who have great organisational qualities.
Having a team captain is a great way of creating a team environment and can really help to alleviate the pressure and add to the fun of an event. Please do support and appreciate your team captains; they will be doing their best to support you.
