Welcome to the MedwayTri run training page. The third discipline or the first?! For some, this is the hardest of the three, which is why at MedwayTri we endeavour to help you improve your run, or at least prevent it from becoming your sticking point. They say you cannot win a race on the run, but you can certainly lose a race on the run.
At MedwayTri we attempt to keep you on your toes (literally!). Run training forms a significant part of the training schedule throughout the week, with weekly track sessions held at Medway Park. Open to all abilities and age groups, as being on the track lends well to runners of all speeds joining in, these sessions are technical and intense. The session takes you through a series of important run-specific drills to enable you to perfect your running technique, and also push the boundaries of endurance and pace.
During the winter season, cross-country training with hill sets takes place in the beautiful setting of Capstone Park. These sets are designed by the coaches to develop consistency and build strength in your legs. Being a hilly course, Capstone Park is ideal for practising and enhancing the skills learnt during the track sessions.
Gold members, unable to attend particular run sessions, have access to all the club's session plans, as well as appropriate annual training plans, to help them train on their own yet still obtain their season’s goals.
