Andri de Wit
Level 2 Coach
Having done Athletics, Swimming, Biathlon & Cross country at a County level as a teenager, I did my first triathlon, a sprint for charity in 2005. Since then I've competed across all distances including an Ironman & competing as part of the Deutsche Bank team in the London to Paris Enduro relay triathlon, which included swimming the channel.
In 2008 I developed a shoulder injury which prevented swimming & therefore competing in triathlons. During that time I started running marathons with the penultimate being the Comrades marathon (89km). Following shoulder surgery I was able to swim again & started racing for the Great Britain Age group team in 2011 at the Beijing, China World Championships. I have competed in the Olympic distance at both the European & the World Championships since.
Having been a helper at open water swimming for many years, I was delighted to become part of the coaching team when MedwayTri was established to help others enjoy triathlon & achieve their goals. I am currently completing my Level 2 coaching qualification.
