Claire Hitchings
Level 2 Personal Coach
I am a BTF Level 2 Personal Coach and I'm passionate about working with athletes to help them achieve their triathlon goals. I get a real buzz from seeing people improve.
I got into triathlon relatively late in my sporting career. As a kid I was sports-mad. My first loves were athletics (particularly long jump, hurdles and heptathlon to county-level) and netball (playing county, national league and British University-level).
I first qualified to race for the Great Britain triathlon age group team in 2009 (aged 38) in a duathlon (run-bike-run) in Budapest. I have won multiple World, European and National age group titles across triathlon and duathlon (both road and off-road).
I have a strong sport science background (BSc in sport science degree, a PhD in sport psychology and a decade working as a sport scientist with England Netball). In 2016 I was awarded Fellowship of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences.
