Liz Scott

Level 3

Like many coaches, I began my journey in triathlon as a competitor, representing GB as an Age Grouper at European and World Championships (standard distance) before transitioning to coaching. I have been a BTF Level 3 coaching since 2007 and have coached triathlon in a wide range of settings; as a club Head Coach (Larkfield AC), as director of a coaching company (thetrilife.com), organising UK based and overseas training camps, as coaching partner to the largest race organisers in the UK, and coaching performance athletes on a one-to-one basis.

In 2016, I was appointed Lead Skills School coach for the South East region and began to put all my coaching time and energy into the coaching of children and young people. I practise a child-centred approach to coaching, using principles of guided challenge and discovery. I joined the coaching team of MedwayTri in 2019, as a cover swim coach for 6 weeks and I am still here!

Working for BTF, I am Coach Tutor and Mentor and I deliver the Coaching Children and Young People CPD module. And, as a volunteer, since 2019, I am lucky enough to manage the Triathlon England South East Inter-Region Championships team of 11 to 14 year olds.

I am the Triathlon England Council Representative for the South East region and in 2025 I was appointed to the Board of Triathlon England.
